Tournament: Premier League
Fixture: Aston Villa vs West Ham
Date/Time: GMT(+1) time 8 pm on 16th September and IST time 12:30 am 17th September.
Arena: Villa Park
A 5-0 shellacking is the last way you want your season to begin but West Ham have responded wonderfully by taking 2 wins and a draw after it. Beating Watford at away was a highlight for West Ham. New signing Haller has had an excellent start to the season. This bring another opportunity for Pellegrini to keep pushing higher up the table. These are fixtures which would be difference for West Ham to finish 10th or higher.
Whereas for Villa it has been up and down start with 3 points from 4 games. They showed great courage and defiance against Spurs. But a collapse in last 20 minutes left them empty handed. They were given a warning signal after surprisingly losing to Bournemouth at home. A good win against Everton got much needed relief for Dean Smith and Villa fans. Aston villa scored a late goal against Palace and it should have stood, but an appaling decision by referee left Villa fans in agony and match finished 1-0 to Palace.
West ham suffered a devastating blow after Michail Antonio pulled his hamstring and is reported to be out for 3 or 4 months. Winston Reid is another absentee for West Ham. ( Credits: Football London).
For Villa new signing Matt Targett will remain out for some time after tweaking his hamstring. Jonathan Kodjia is 50/50 for the West Ham game. James Chester could also be out for this match. ( Credits: Villa Underground)
Predicted Line Up:
Surprisingly their last meeting was in 2016 in the Premier League. The last two meetings at Villa park have ended as a draw and a Villa win. In overall head to head, West Ham lead with 40 wins whereas Villa have beaten them 38 times and 32 times its ended as a draw.( Credits: 11 vs 11)
Aston Villa 1-2 West Ham
I expect this match to be Enthralling with end to end stuff. West ham are a more experienced side and that will show as the match goes on. Aston Villa will have the crowd backing it till the end which could create a bit of difference. Both sides have good attacking qualities along with good defenders. Mings who has been excellent this for Villa will be crucial to Villa to keep Haller at bay. Overall i beleive West Ham are a stronger side and they have shown two good away performances this season and they might edge Villa who have been indifferent at home so far. Overall i beleive we will get an excellent game to watch.
